This is the yummiest dish of Sweet Potatoes Ever!)&lt;br /&gt;- 3 c mashed yams&lt;br /&gt;- ½ c sugar (substitute xagave or splenda)&lt;br /&gt;- 2 beaten eggs&lt;br /&gt;- 1 tsp vanilla (I have this powdered kind that is to die for!)&lt;br /&gt;- ¼ c milk &lt;br /&gt;- ½ c butter (I've put less and not margarine!)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mix in casserole dish. Set oven to 350 degrees.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Topping (Mix like strudel):&lt;br /&gt;- 1/3 c flour &lt;br /&gt;- 1c brown sugar &lt;br /&gt;- 1 c chopped nuts &lt;br /&gt;- 1/3 c butter&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(or you could just drizzle xagave on top with nuts after you bake it--I haven't tried it this way though)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sprinkle on top of yams and bake for 30 min&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sweet Potatoes with Applesauce&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6 medium yams, peeled &amp; cut into cubes&lt;br /&gt;1.5 c applesauce&lt;br /&gt;2/3 c brown sugar (I used Xagave)&lt;br /&gt;3 TB butter, melted (I used about 2)&lt;br /&gt;1 tsp cinnamon&lt;br /&gt;1/2 c nuts (toasted)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Place yams in slow cooker. Mix remaining ingredients except nuts; spoon over yams. cover and cook on low heat setting 6-8 hours or until potatoes are tender. sprinkle with nuts!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Creamy Split Pea Soup (Very delicious)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2 c dried split peas&lt;br /&gt;6 c H2O&lt;br /&gt;1/2 c apple juice&lt;br /&gt;1 large yam, peeled and cubed (2 c)&lt;br /&gt;1 large onion chopped&lt;br /&gt;4 cloves garlic&lt;br /&gt;2 tsp salt&lt;br /&gt;3 c firmly packed fresh spinach leaves (i throw in a handful of frozen)&lt;br /&gt;1 c cream (I use milk, and it's still delicious)&lt;br /&gt;2 T chopped fresh dill (I use dried)&lt;br /&gt;fresh ground pepper to taste&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mix peas, water , juice, sweet potato, onion, garlic, and salt in slow cooker. cover and cook on low for up to 10-11 hours or till peas are tender.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Stir in spinach, cream (or milk), and dill weed. Cover and cook on low for 30 plus minutes or till spinach is wilted (I serve immediatly-not patient, and my spinach is frozen). Season with pepper. This is sooo good!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another very healthy option for a sweet potato (or yam) is to just bake it like a potato and eat it. It is really good just like that without anything on it! It might help us all cope with the ward splittage!  I haven't made it yet, but you know I will.  Toffee is my FAVORITE treat.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;h4&gt;Alice Belle’s World’s Best English Toffee Recipe&lt;/h4&gt; &lt;p&gt;2 sticks of butter&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;1 1/3 cups white sugar&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;3 Tablespoons water&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;1/2 Cup nuts (optional)&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;1 teaspoon vanilla extract&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;1 - 1 1/2 Cups chocolate chips (milk chocolate is best but semi-sweet is good also)&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;First, prepare a pan lined with buttered aluminum foil.  I use a jelly roll pan.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.skiptomylou.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/toffee-prepared-pan.jpg"&gt;&lt;img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-5230" title="toffee-prepared-pan" src="http://www.skiptomylou.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/toffee-prepared-pan.jpg" alt="" height="533" width="400" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Melt butter in a saucepan and add 1 1/3 cups sugar and 3 Tablespoons water and stir well.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.skiptomylou.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/toffee-pouring-in-the-sugar.jpg"&gt;&lt;img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-5227" title="toffee-pouring-in-the-sugar" src="http://www.skiptomylou.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/toffee-pouring-in-the-sugar.jpg" alt="" height="576" width="400" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Over medium high heat cook, stirring frequently, until it reaches 300&lt;br /&gt;degrees. If the candy appears to separate (with a layer of melted&lt;br /&gt;butter on top) stir vigorously to make it come back together again.&lt;br /&gt;Watch CLOSELY at 285 degrees, since it cooks quickly and will&lt;br /&gt;scorch at high temperatures.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.skiptomylou.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/toffee-with-thermometer.jpg"&gt;&lt;img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-5228" title="toffee-with-thermometer" src="http://www.skiptomylou.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/toffee-with-thermometer.jpg" alt="" height="533" width="400" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;To show you how quickly it cooks, at 285 degrees I was going to take a picture of it at precisely 300 degrees, but it went too quickly. It can usually go to 310 but any hotter and it will scorch!&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.skiptomylou.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/toffee-hard-crack.jpg"&gt;&lt;img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-5229" title="toffee-hard-crack" src="http://www.skiptomylou.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/toffee-hard-crack.jpg" alt="" height="533" width="400" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;At 300 degrees remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.  Stir in nuts if using (or you can sprinkle on top of chocolate).&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Carefully pour toffee into prepared pan smoothing to desired thickness and let set about a minute. Powder Sugar (1/2 cup)&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;1 Tbsp. Butter&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;2 Tsp. Cream Cheese&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Dash of Vanilla&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;2 Tsp. (I like raspberry jam)&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;In a  large bowl, thoroughly mix kiwis, apples, raspberries, strawberries, white sugar, brown sugar, and fruit preserves.  Cover and chill in fridge at least 15 minutes before serving.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Use "crustos"  from Taco Time for the chips. It doesn't need to be stirred.  If you own a round crock pot you can spin the lid to get the condensation off and see inside.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;*  You can use frozen meat (except turkey).  It takes 2 hours longer on high and 4-6 hours longer on low.  I think it's juicier.  This can also help you stretch the time if you're going to be for longer than the recipe calls for.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;*  1 hour on high = 2 to 2 1/2 on low&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;*  Carrots and potatoes take longer.  Put them on the bottom next to the heat source.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;*  You can choose cheaper cuts of meat.  The crock pot will make them nice and tender.  I think a longer time on low works better than cooking on high for this.  Especially if you cook from frozen.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;*  Ground beef needs to be precooked before adding it to a recipe.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;*  You'll need very little water since it doesn't cook off.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;*  You can make up your recipe the night before (not rice or pasta)  and keep the removable crock in the refrigerator. Top with onion and peppers.  Combine sauce ingredients and pour over meat.  Cover and cook on low for about 6-7 hours until meat is tender.  Using 2 forks, shred the chicken (do not remove from crock). It was super easy and I am not sure why I didn't think of this before.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I took some leftover chicken tenders from last night ( you can buy a bag of pre-breaded and pre-cooked tenders at Macey's for a good price.)  I heated them up and added them to a warm tortilla with melted cheese.  I added shredded lettuce and tomatoes.  I topped it all off with tabasco sauce mixed with ranch dressing.  It was Awesome! Brooks loved them and keeps begging me to make them again so I thought I would do them in heart shapes for Valentines.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;small flour tortillas&lt;br /&gt;white sugar&lt;br /&gt;butter&lt;br /&gt;confectioner's sugar&lt;br /&gt;Grapes, Raspberries, peeled orange sections&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fold tortillas in half, then fold in half again.  Cut design in tortilla using kitchen scissors, similar to making a aper snowflake.  Unfold and open tortilla shape.  Place on baking sheet.  Brush snowflake with a little butter.  Sprinkle with white sugar.  Place snowflake under oven broiler to brown and crisp, about 2-5 minutes.  Put confectioner's sugar in a small bowl.  wash fruit; dip wet fruit pieces in confectioner's sugar and arrange on snowflake or heart. In 3 1/2 to 4-quart slow cooker, combine all ingredients except pork and rolls; mix well. Add pork; stir to coat.&lt;br /&gt;2. Cover; cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours.&lt;br /&gt;3. Remove pork from slow cooker. Shred pork by pulling apart with 2 forks. Add pork back to sauce in slow cooker; mix well. If desired, to toast rolls, place cut sides up on ungreased cookie sheet; broil 4 to 6 inches from heat for 1 to 2 minutes. Flour&lt;br /&gt;3/4 cup sugar&lt;br /&gt;1/3 cup melted butter&lt;br /&gt;5 cups halves of canned pears&lt;br /&gt;Cinnamon and sugar in shaker&lt;br /&gt;Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Preheat oven to 450*F, line a 9-inch pie pan with pie dough.  Combine and blend egg, flour, sugar, and melted butter.  Arrange pears in pie shell (cups up) and pour batter over them.  Put second pie dough over lattice style or prick, then flute edges.   Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.  Bake 10 minutes at 450*F, then reduce the heat to 350*F and bake about 35-45 minutes or until golden brown. Make your garden neat and attractive as well as productive. It takes months and years to get a harvest off of some plants, so we should begin now.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;                                             Navajo Fry Bread&lt;br /&gt;3 ½ Cups flour, white &amp;amp; whole wheat              ½ cup powdered milk&lt;br /&gt;1 Tbsp baking powder                                        1 ¾ cup warm water&lt;br /&gt;½ tsp salt&lt;br /&gt;    Put everything in bowl, and mix with your hands. Knead until not sticky.  Let set, covered, for about 2 hours for best results, but it can be used immediately.  Pat a small amount of dough out with oiled hands, turning and stretching to make it flat. Pinch a hole in the center and fry in hot oil until light brown, then turn and cook on other side.  You can cut into smaller pieces and use as bread at a meal, or tope with beans, meat, rice, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, etc., for a whole meal.  You can use this recipe for donuts, and can fry in smaller bits and cover with cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar or powdered sugar for a treat. It's also a great snack or appetizer for Thanksgiving, Halloween, or Fall football parties!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1 can pumpkin (15 oz)&lt;br /&gt;1 package cream cheese (8 oz)&lt;br /&gt;2 cups powdered sugar&lt;br /&gt;2 teaspoons cinnamon&lt;br /&gt;2 teaspoons pumpkin spice&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let cream cheese soften at room temperature for a while, then combine all ingredients and whip with an electric hand mixer. You may have to whip it for a while depending on the softness of the cream cheese. Let chill in &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;refrigerator&lt;/span&gt; until ready to serve.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Serve with apples, ginger snap cookies, graham rind.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;mix together and measure and add double that amount of sugar.  (I only add about 2-3 cups sugar)&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;2 regular size cherry Stir and continue cooking at 15 second intervals until melted. Stir well. My kids love these and they usually eat them with nothing else but a veggie. They like to use the colorful toothpicks to pick 'em up.  You can serve them with rice and eggrolls. Also, they make a great after-school snack.  &lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;(I borrowed this recipe from Lindsey Dunn.)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;They are cooking now and my mouth is watering!&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1 jar (32 oz) - Grape Jelly&lt;br /&gt;2 jars (12 oz each) - Heinz Chili Sauce&lt;br /&gt;5 lb bag - Frozen Meatballs&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Combine Grape Jelly and Chili Sauce in large pot. Blend with wire whisk. Bring sauce to a boil. Add bag of meatballs to sauce. Stir together until meatballs are covered with sauce. Reduce heat to medium.  Let cook for about 25 minutes - stirring often. as directed on the box.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Cut a loaf of french bread in half, lengthwise, as if you were going to make a sandwich.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Take out a little of the bread and top with &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;stroganoff&lt;/span&gt;.  Cover with &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;mozzarella&lt;/span&gt;
